Application of High-Temperature Castable  in Heating Furnace

The heating furnace is a high-temperature thermal equipment for steelmaking. The heating furnace is composed of a furnace wall, furnace bottom, and furnace roof.

The working temperature of the furnace is generally below 1400°C. For the continuous heating furnace, the furnace temperature of each part is constant, which is divided into tropical, heating, and military tropical. Their temperatures are 800-900°C and 1150°C respectively. -1200°C, 1200-1300°C.

Introduction of refractory materials used in heating furnaces

Heating furnaces generally use aluminum-silicon refractory materials, the inner lining is made of heavy refractory materials, and the outer lining is made of lightweight clay bricks and insulation boards to improve the thermal insulation performance of the heating furnace. The heating zone will be eroded by iron oxide slag, so magnesia-chrome bricks are used as the working layer, clay bricks are used for the working layer in the pre-tropical zone, and high-alumina bricks are used for the furnace roof of the soaking zone and heating zone, and insulation boards are laid on it.

Application of refractory castable in heating furnace

The composite structure of castable and insulation materials for heating furnace lining is much superior to that of refractory bricks as lining. The overall casting has no brick joints, good integrity, and strong air tightness. In addition, the anchor brick is connected to the furnace lining, so the stability is stronger. Therefore, the use of castables is more extensive in the furnace. Commonly used castables include low cement castables, self-flowing castables, mullite castables, phosphate castables, anti-dry slag castables, lightweight castables, etc.
