Sintered zirconium corundum bricks are also called ceramic-bonded aluminosilicon zirconium bricks. Compared with fused zirconium corundum bricks, the chemical composition of sintered AZS bricks is similar. However, it has the advantages of containing no carbon, low glass phase content, uniform structure, no shrinkage cavities, and good thermal shock stability and corrosion resistance.
The use of sintered AZS bricks in glass kilns
It has good resistance to alkali vapor and thermal shock. It is mainly used in the flame space of glass kilns, the regenerator bricks, and the upper grid body. It can also be used in the bottom or forehearth of float glass kilns and daily glass kilns—big bricks.
